DAY 1: SAN JOSE
Welcome to San Jose, Costa Rica!
Reception at the Juan Santamaria International Airport and transfer to your hotel in San Jose.
The capital city of San Jose, considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Latin America, is located in the middle of the Central Valley in the center of the country. The city features popular tourist attractions, such as historical buildings, museums, theaters, artisan markets, beautiful parks, shopping centers, and a varied gastronomic scene.

DAY 2: SAN JOSE - PACUARE (2.5 HRS. APPROX.)
This morning, you will depart for the Pacuare River, renowned as one of the best 10 rivers in the world for its scenic beauty and its rapids. Along the way, you will cross the Braulio Carrillo National Park, the largest in the central region. In route, you’ll stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast.
When you get to the rafting put-in at the Pacuare River, you will be outfitted with your equipment and meet your guides. Then, you’ll begin your exciting whitewater rafting adventure for about 1.5 hours until you arrive at the lodge. Lunch will be at the lodge or by the river. Your lodge is an eco-paradise nestled in virgin rainforest alongside the Pacuare River. You can hike the lodge’s trails or relax in a hammock or your room in the afternoon. Dinner tonight is in the lodge.

DAY 3: PACUARE

Today you will wake up listening to the songs of birds and the relaxing sound of the river. You have the opportunity to hike up in the mountains to a Cabecar indigenous community (about 2.5 hours each way). Afterward, you will return to the lodge for a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, relax at the lodge. Dinner tonight is in the lodge.

DAY 4: PACUARE - ARENAL VOLCANO (6 HRS. APPROX.)

Start this day with the incomparable adventure of rafting down the Pacuare River, descending class 3 and 4 rapids through a spectacular rainforest gorge. You will finish by the town of Siquirres. You will have lunch and get ready to drive to the Northern Plains, where the impressive Arenal Volcano awaits. Majestic in its grand stature, the volcano is one of the country’s natural wonders. Along your journey to the town of La Fortuna, at the base of the volcano, you will see agricultural plantations, large ornamental plant nurseries, and cattle farms.

DAY 5: ARENAL VOLCANO

Today you will enjoy one of the most extreme adventures offered in Arenal – the Gravity Falls Canyoning tour. You begin with a rappel alongside a thunderous 140-foot waterfall. When you reach the bottom, you will have to jump into the pool and swim to shore. You'll then take on a series of cliff jumps ranging from a 10-foot technical jump to a 30-foot jump from another waterfall, as you swim, float, climb, walk, and maneuver through this secluded and exclusive canyon.

DAY 6: ARENAL VOLCANO - MONTEVERDE (3.5 HRS. APPROX.)

You will go to Monteverde today. Encompassing rainforest, cloud forest, and spectacular biodiversity, Monteverde has one of the rarest and most unique habitats on the planet, not to mention an astonishing variety of flora and fauna. Its strategic position straddling the Continental Divide between the Caribbean and the Pacific coasts creates the rare cloud forest, a distinctive microclimate for the many unique species that inhabit this area. You will experience beautiful landscapes during your journey and see how locals live when passing typical small villages.

DAY 7: MONTEVERDE

The extreme adventure starts with the Sky Trek is a thrilling zip line circuit that’s located in the magical forests of Monteverde. Your tour will start riding an open-air gondola from the ground to the highest point of the mountain where you’ll be dropped off at an observation area to admire fantastic views of the surrounding forests. From this point, you will start riding down a unique zipline circuit that stretches across canyons, going from one mountain to another, and in between treetops. It truly is an exhilarating adventure of zip lining down the mountains. At our Sky Trek in Monteverde, you ride the tram up the mountain, and then get back to the base riding our thrilling ziplines, making it a perfect adventure activity with no walking segments

DAY 8: MONTEVERDE - TAMARINDO (3 HRS. APPROX.)

Today you head to Costa Rica’s northern Pacific coast in the Guanacaste region. This province has earned a name for itself as a tropical paradise with an unspoiled coastline, beautiful mountains, and majestic volcanoes. Since Guanacaste spans the northwestern corner of Costa Rica, it should come as no surprise that this lively province is home to some of the country’s most beautiful beaches. You will have the afternoon free to enjoy the beach and explore the vibrant town of Tamarindo, home to a large international community.

DAY 9: TAMARINDO

This morning you will ride ATVs along trails in the dry tropical forest on a private farm. Awaiting you are beautiful panoramic views of the coast and unique flora and fauna native to the Guanacaste region. You will see fantastic Guanacaste trees, Costa Rica’s national tree, and wildlife like monkeys, coatis, armadillos, and birds. Your tour finishes with a delicious, traditional Costa Rican meal.

DAY 10: TAMARINDO

Day for free to enjoy in the serenity of this tropical paradise the sea, the sun, the sand and the beach. Tamarindo is a very popular destination among tourists due to its modern development where you will find cafes, a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, art galleries, among others.

Today you depart to the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose. If you are traveling by shared transfer, and your flight leaves before 16:00, you will require a private transfer for an additional amount.

Recommendations:
- Passport with no less than 6 months of validity
- Travel alarm clock (some hotels have them, others do not; so, it's a good idea to bring one)
- Sun block and insect repellent
- Shirts: cotton or light synthetic, long and short sleeves
- Pants: lightweight cotton or synthetic pants. Bring at least 2 sets of clothes that dry quickly (jeans are not recommended; too slow to dry)
- Footwear: lightweight waterproof hiking boots, river sandals (Teva type sandals), tennis shoes
- Running shoes / sneakers. If you are not wearing hiking boots, be sure to bring TWO pairs of tennis shoes. As soon as a pair gets wet, wear them when your feet are likely to get wet. Make every effort to keep the other pair dry!
- Socks: bring extra pairs in case your feet get wet
- Swimsuit
- Rainwear: poncho, raincoat, and umbrella
- Hat(s) with a brim for protection against rain and sun
