Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain

DAY 1: CUSCO - CITY TOUR

Tour Duration: 13:00 – 18:30 hrs. approx. (5.30 Hours)

We will pick you up at 13:00 hrs. approx. and will visit the city and nearby archeological places, the first place to visit is the Cathedral of Cusco located in the main square, is famous because was the first cathedral in Cusco from the Colonial age approximate 1538, you can view inside amazing pictures painted for famous artists of the Cusquenian Art. Then we will visit the Qoricancha (temple of the sun) is the most important temple of the Inca Empire dedicated to the sun god, over this temple was built the convent of Santo Domingo. Then we will continue to visit the Archaeological site of Saqsayhuaman, this ceremonial fortress with megalithic walls, is the best architectural Inca work, a really magnificent construction. After that, we will follow with Q'enqo which in Quechua means labyrinth, this temple dedicated to Mother Earth, It is the only center for astronomical studies and celebrations, also full of carved unknowns and is a mysticism that only Andean man could be able to understand; then Puca Pucara, It is a military construction, this fortress is composed of large walls, terraces and stairways and was part of the defensive complex of Cusco in particular and of the Inca Empire in general. Finally, the temple dedicated to the water is Tambomachay, exposes its sources of crystal clear water that give us the farewell to return to the city of Cusco.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES

Tour Beginning: Between 7:30 am – 8:00 am

In this occasion, our guide will look for you at your hotel to take you to the tourist bus that will take you to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The first visit stop will be the Mirador of Taray for spectacular views of the Andes and the Sacred Valley then we will continue to the Archaeological Complex of Pisac and see the agricultural terraces, Inca cemeteries and royal buildings.  Then the City of Pisac and its famous Handicraft Market where we will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of their inhabitants; after this visit we will continue our trip to the city of Urubamba where we will enjoy our lunch in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains, after this we will continue our trip to the Magnificent Inca Archaeological Center of Ollantaytambo built to guard the entrance to Machu Picchu and to protect the Incas from possible invasions. We will visit its ruins, terraces, temples and cobbled city of the time, there we can appreciate splendid views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

In the afternoon just after the sight of Ollantaytambo we will take a train that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes located in the lower part of the mountain of Machu Picchu, this journey you will take 2 hours and you will have beautiful views of the forest and mountains of the Sacred Valley, here we will spend the night in the hotel reserved for you.

DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU

Tour Beginning: Morning (Prior coordination with our guide during the tour)

On this day we will get up early, the hour will depend of the ticket schedule of the entrance to Machu Picchu. We will get ready and have a good breakfast, then we will take a tourist bus that will take us to the bus station at the top of The mountain of Machu Picchu, where we will begin our tour, first crossing the checkpoint where we will identify ourself with our passport and entrance ticket, then our guide will take us through a brief Inca trail until we reach an observation point where we will give ourselves an incredible surprise and we will see the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu in all its splendor, then we will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours and after this we will have free time to continue touring on our own and take all the photos we want. At the end of the visit we will take the bus to get off to the city of Aguas Calientes.

In the afternoon we will take the train to the city of Ollantaytambo where a tourist bus will be waiting for us to take us to our hotel in the City of Cusco where we will spend the night.

The Return hour to Cusco City will depend of the availability of the Train Tickets.

DAY 4: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

Tour Duration: 04:00 – 17:00 hrs.

Our guide will pick you up very early to take you to our tourist bus and start our journey, we will take a very old road where we will observe countryside, trees, mountains and rivers to reach the town of Cusipata where we will take our breakfast, then we will follow our tour through beautiful valleys of the area until we reach the parking lot, where we will begin our walk at 4,600 meters.

In this walk we will pass through beautiful landscapes and lagoons where South American camelids such as Alpacas, Llamas and Vicuñas and Andean birds such as Condor live, which hopefully we can appreciate them inhabiting nature, The walk will be approximately 1 hour and a half until we reach to a place called Vinicunca - Passo of 5,035 meters, where we will have stunning views of Rainbow Mountain, with the sunrise its imposing valley and hills of magical colors that only exist in this place of Peru are best shown. Around we can observe the Ausangate Mountain which is the highest in Cusco with 6,372 meters

After a long photo shoot, we will return back to where our lunch is waiting for us, then head back to Cusco arriving at approximately 17:00 Hrs.

DAY 5: CUSCO
